SUMMER SPECIAL OFFER

Journalling

November Journalling Reset

A little time for you. A space to pause, reflect and reconnect.

November can be a busy month. The year is beginning to wind down, Christmas is getting closer, and it can be easy to keep rushing without stopping to think about how we're actually doing.

This November, Jigsaw is offering a gentle 4-week online journalling experience designed to give you some time for yourself.

No pressure. No perfect words. Just a welcoming space to pause, write, reflect and reconnect.

📖 What you'll receive

4 online journalling sessions
1 session each week
Guided journal prompts and activities
A supportive, relaxed space to reflect
Time to think about what matters to you

You don't need to be a writer and you don't need any previous journalling experience.

You can share as much or as little as you want.

🌱 Our four weeks

Week 1 – Where Am I Now?
A gentle check-in with yourself and how you're feeling.

Week 2 – What's Taking My Energy?
Looking at what drains us, what restores us and what we might need more of.

Week 3 – What Am I Proud Of?
Recognising your strengths, progress and the small wins that are easy to overlook.

Week 4 – What Do I Need Next?
Looking ahead and thinking about what you'd like more of, less of and what might help you move forward.

💛 Choose how you'd like to join

1-to-1 Journalling Support – £25 for all 4 sessions

A private online space that's completely about you, your thoughts and your reflections.

Journalling with Friends – £20 per person

Bring 2 or 3 close friends and create your own small group of 3 or 4.

A lovely way to spend some time together, reflect and have conversations you might not normally make time for.

🍂 This November, give yourself permission to pause.

You don't have to have everything figured out.

Sometimes you just need a little space to hear your own thoughts.

Sept Reflection

Archie Deserves Hopes and Dreams Too

Sometimes the most meaningful projects begin with the people closest to us.

Hello October.

September seemed to come and go without taking a breath. For me, it was a month of starting something completely new — a project that has inspired me, challenged me and humbled me all at the same time.

In the middle of July, my grandson Archie was diagnosed with ADHD (combined presentation) and autism.

By that point, he had already completed Year 7 — a year that had been incredibly challenging for him.

Think about the transition from a familiar, structured primary classroom with one teacher to a secondary school where a young person may have several different teachers, classrooms and expectations every single day.

Constant change.
Different environments.
Different people.
Different ways of communicating.
Sensory overload.

For some young people, that can be incredibly difficult to navigate.

For Archie, it was suffering — and I use that word deliberately.

But alongside the challenges, we discovered something incredibly important.

Archie had a voice. We just needed to find a way to make sure people could hear it.

So, together, we created a workbook.

It included simple activities and strategies to help calm some of the noise and overwhelm, information to help others understand how Archie communicates, and personal sections where he could explain how he was feeling, what helped him and who he trusted.

Then something really powerful happened.

Archie chose the people he wanted to share his books with.

He gave them to people he trusted because he wanted them to understand him.

He kept one for school.

And, because there was now a formal diagnosis and something tangible that helped explain his needs, people were more willing to stop, look and — most importantly — listen.

That experience has stayed with me.

Because I don't believe Archie's story is unique.

There are so many young people who are struggling to communicate what they need, while the adults around them are trying their best but don't always know what to do.

There are teachers who want to help but need more understanding.

Parents who know their child inside out but don't always feel heard.

And young people who have plenty to say but don't always have the tools, confidence or opportunity to say it in a way others understand.

And that's where Archie Deserves Hopes and Dreams Too began.

Together with Archie, I'm developing a programme for schools that puts listening, communication and the young person's voice at the centre.

The programme will include:

👩‍🏫 A 2-hour teacher workshop
Creating space for teachers to talk about the challenges they are seeing, understand communication needs and develop practical strategies.

❤️ A 1-hour parent workshop
Giving parents an opportunity to be heard, share what they know about their child and develop strategies alongside school.

📖 12 student sessions of 15–30 minutes
Giving young people time and support to explore how they communicate, what helps them, what can make things difficult and who they can turn to.

And at the end, each young person will have something that belongs to them:

Their own communication book.

Not a clinical report.

Not a list of things they can't do.

But their voice, their experiences, their needs, their strengths, their hopes and their dreams.

Because adapting how we communicate isn't about lowering expectations.

It's about making sure every young person has a fair opportunity to be understood.

And perhaps most importantly, it's about bringing young person, parent and school together so that everyone has a chance to listen, learn and work together.

Archie's experience has inspired me to take something that began within our family and turn it into something that could potentially help other young people and the people supporting them.

Because Archie deserves hopes and dreams too.

And so does every young person.

If your school, family or organisation has experienced something similar, or if you'd like to be involved in helping us develop this programme, I'd love to hear from you.

A great time spent in August with Charismatic Care working on Team Building, Effective Communication, Culture & Wellbeing

From Principles to Practice: A Collaborative Approach

In the care sector, most organisations maintain a comprehensive annual training matrix to ensure staff understand the core principles of each subject area. At JIGSAW, we go a step further, bringing those principles to life by embedding them into the day-to-day delivery of your service.

Our training is built around cultivating an “ACE” attitude:
A – Acceptance of others’ views and opinions
C – Curiosity, encouraging continuous questioning and learning
E – Engagement, being fully present and involved each day

Through this approach, we support individuals and teams to reflect, learn, and grow—driving continuous improvement in both service delivery and the wellbeing of everyone involved.

Care services are fundamentally built on relationships and solution-focused practices. Whether providing direct support to individuals or offering guidance as a manager, delivering best practice is essential. At the heart of this is the development of strong human skills—communication, active listening, empathy, and genuine care—woven into everyday practice.

Training that counts

Social care isn’t just work—it’s responsibility, emotion, and constant pressure.

JIGSAW exists to support the people carrying that weight.
Through leadership development, team growth, and reflective space, we help you build something stronger—together.
